Combat Aviation Brigade: Fort Riley Homepage.

On 01 August, 2006 the "Combat Aviation Brigade" officially "stood up", as a "Medium Aviation Brigade", assigned for duty with the 1st Infantry Division, and is home stationed at Fort Riley, KS., the long time home of the "Big Red One". Sometimes referred to as the "1st Combat Aviation Brigade", at full strength it will have a total of 120 aircraft assigned. The total complement of aircraft will in include 24 AH-64D, 30 OH-58, 12 UH-60A, 36 UH-60L, and 12 CH-47D. The 8 of the 12 UH60A's will be replace with 6 UH-60L and 2 EUH-60L for GSAB/CAC. As of April 2007, the CAB has 18 Apaches, 32 Blackhawks, and 8 Chinooks. OH-58's to be later replaced with the new "Armed Reconnaissance Helicopter". The CAB is scheduled for full strength and deployment to OIF summer 2007.
