is a "General Support Aviation Battalion" (GSAB), with 12 HH-60 medevac Black Hawks,
12 CH-47 Chinooks and 8 command-and-control UH-60s. The battalion "conducts
air-traffice services, aerial command and control, logistical re-supply and
medical evactuation operations". These operations are done with the use of
an "Air Traffic Service" company [F/2-1],
and a "Dustoff" Air Med-a-Vac company [C/2-1].
3rd Battalion, 1st Aviaton Regiment is a "Air Assault Battalion" (AAB), with
Command Aviation Company, 8 UH-60's and two air assualt companies, with 30 UH-60's.
